My image, “The Corner Post”, has been popular over the years. When I first began making this image it was the green prairie, cattle and broken sunlight that appealed to me. As I continued to work the image with the camera, however, I became drawn to the fence. Specifically, the texture of the weather worn hedge posts and the contrast of the rusted barbwire. The fence posts appear to have stood the test of time. They have undoubtedly battled endless sun, wind, rain, ice and snow. The barbwire comes and goes, however, as noted by the un-rusted strands mixed in with the older rusted wires. The coiled wire is a testament to past repairs and the fence menders attitude of waste not, want not.
